BACK

I had an idea for a custom just for me....since 1999, I have been using the monniker "The Northern Jedi", which was bestowed upon me by Steve Sansweet at Lucasfilm. I thought "what would a Northern Jedi look like?" So I made one!

This custom is the first time I've used more than two figures for its parts. Step one shows the parts used:

Leia Endor head and torso (minus her hair)
      Darth Maul arms
      Luke legs, pelvis and belt
Qui Gon cloak and lightsaber hilt
      Ric Olie goggles

Putting the parts together
Step 1: Here the Maul arms look large; but I knew I had to have the bulk for the "heavy winter jacket and gloves" look. Once I sculpted the rest of the jacket, they looked better. As well, I considered paring down Luke's boots, but again, once I turned them into Hoth style ones, they had the necessary bulk for the cold-weather-gear look. I used the belt from my Luke, cutting it free from the rest of his skirt.
Adding sculpey
Step 2: Once I had the parts glued back together, she still had articulation in her arms (two points), legs, (two points - knees and pelvis), and torso. Unfortunately, because of the sculpted hair, her neck no longer could move. I used sculpey to fill in the necessary areas: hair, jacket (bodice only), scarf around her neck,
 and boots.
Step 3: After boiling to cure, I painted a few coats of white to cover the entire figure (except her face). I then decided on a cold color scheme -- blue and grey. Blue highlights were put on the boot straps and soles, grey in the folds, blue gloves, and blue jacket collar. I used grey for her belt and pouches. Her hair is grey with frosted white highlights (although the scan picks up a lot of blue in her hair...)

I wanted to give her a "Wampa hair" trimmed cloak, but since I couldn't find fake fur in the correct scale around the house, I used a cotton ball pulled straight, folded and glued to the cloak. I then trimmed it with scissors. The "fur" only trims the cloak around the edges and hood at the back.

The last step was to give her a saber. I used Qui Gon's saber hilt, drilled a hole, and inserted a blue swizzle stick into it. I kept the cloak long, as I am posing her on some "snow sprinkled" foam to look like a cold landscape. I hope you liked this entirely non-canon figure!
