BACK

Wald, the young Rodian friend of Anakin's, was made from a vintage Greedo figure. The first step was to cut the figure down to size. I should have scanned him with my Anakin figure -- he is actually now just a bit shorter than his human friend. The arms were cut off above the elbow, a piece removed, then reattached. The legs were shortened in the same way. The torso was also cut at the waist, a small section removed and re-glued. The head was also removed, the neck pared down and reattached.

The rest of the figure was made from sculpey. A new method was used during sculpting -- this time, after I sculpted the leggings, I laid a small piece of plastic wrap around them before sculpting the jacket. This way, the jacket did not stick to the legs during curing, and the plastic easily slid out after removing Wald from the boiling water. Now his legs are movable!

The entire figure was repainted, especially the head, to which a new purple "mane" and eyebrows were added. The figure was finished off with two sprayed coats of Dullcoat, however, this scan shows he still needs more, which I will add with a brush.
