TREADWELL - Created BEFORE Hasbro's version

BACK

 Before Luke met Artoo and Threepio, he was saddled with this outdated and rather delapidated droid. Treadwell has seen better days, but in it's prime was used for the majority of repairs on the Lars Moisture farm. 

I have seen a few other units of this model type, most notably one which was helping Han repair the Falcon on Hoth. 

This custom was made from a collection of scrap parts and sculpey. 

I began with the base of sculpey, with the designs for treads and wheels imprinted into the sculpey with spare parts of wheels and a plastic bottle ring (the "saw" edged plastic ring you remove to open some bottle caps). The "torso" of Treadwell is actually two metal tubes slid inside one another. The head is sculpted from sculpey, with two clear plastic thumbtacks for eyes. The rest is just wire, toothpicks for tools, and screws with gaskets.
